PUBLISHED 03/20/2009 Fifty-eight-year-old Buzz Burrell is a bit of a trail running legend. The former record holder for the Colorado Trail and the John Muir Trail is known for his adventurous spirit as much as his endurance prowess. The Boulder, Colorado resident prides himself on running trails where no one has run before, and has explored places like Peru, Bolivia, Tibet with not much else than running shoes. The manager of the LaSportiva Mountain Running Team, and a principle of the Boulder Trail Runners Group, Burrell shares his knowledge and passion for the sport with runners of all levels. The 2008 BTR Photo Contest is complete. We had 130 votes this year. Thanks for taking the time to vote! This year we had a tie for first place with Buzz's BTR Long Run photo and Buzz's Orphan Run photo. Congratulations Buzz and everyone else! Come out to a BTR run and purchase your BATCO map from the run leader. If you buy your map at a BTR run, you also get a (free) official BTR membership. This gets you discount card which can be used at several local retailers. Maps only cost $10 and over $9 of that goes directly back to our trails!
